Chapter 8 - Renovations

That weekend we spent time teaching the girls how to drive since they were on Spring Break. It took a lot of patience and some steel nerves (especially since they were driving our cars) but they finally got the hang of it and earned their drivers licenses.

Although we did not have a lot of money to get the girls their own cars we did not want them to have a crappy lemon as their first car. So after going to many dealers we found them a cheap but nice car, a white 2011 Ford Fiesta. We could tell Lexi was hoping for her own better car but they both loved the car and decided to go job hunting together the next day, partially to show off their car.

It was the last day of Spring Break and we had a huge surprise for the girls, Chase was finally coming home today! As we anxiously waited we saw a black muscle car with red racing stripes pull into our driveway, a friend of the girls maybe?

But no, out of the car steps Chase! I could not believe how grown up he was now, we all ran to him and hugged him. It was so good to have him home again! We all sat down together and enjoyed a nice meal as a family and talked for hours.

The next day the kids went to school together.

Brielle was still having some issues with the kids at school but Lexi was one of the most popular kids there and she was super excited for Chase to meet her friends and see some of the kids they met in elementary school. The kids that knew Chase were so happy to see him again and of course the girls that were meeting him for the first time fell head over heels for him. The triplets all had a busy week at school and they all joined clubs at school. Brielle joined the Art Club, Chase joined the Sports Club, and Lexi joined the Music Club.

While the kids all had sleepovers at their friends houses all weekend, Luca and I took the time to completely redo their rooms. They were all out of the kids stuff since they were teens and Lexi was beginning to hate sharing a room with Brielle. They were nothing alike anymore, didn't share any of the same interests, and we could see Lexi and Brielle beginning to grow apart (typical teenagers.)

It didn't take us long to complete Brielle and Chase's rooms but Lexi's room was different. Lexi's room was going to be my parents old room, a room in our house that I had not been in in a very long time.  After a period of crying I helped Luca move all of the old furniture out, paint the walls and place new carpet, then bring Lexi's stuff up a few hours later. Each room was themed after what the triplets liked.

Chase's room was simple and had sports stuff.

Sorry for the green, I didn't realize I had it in build mode. :/

Brielle's room had lots of shapes and colors and all of the art supplies she would need.

Lexi's room was my favorite out of the 3 but that's because we are a lot alike and it was just so clean looking. Her room was very modern, with lots of black and white with splashes of pink and blue throughout the room, big pillows, nice lighting, and a big picture of one of her idols, Marilyn Monroe.

When the kids came home they were very happy with their new rooms. Brielle started painting, Chase got on his computer and researched sports stuff, and Lexi checked herself out in the mirror and got on her phone.

*Bell rings and kids rush out of class rooms*

"Lexi, Chase, over here!" Gwen shouted down the hallway.

"Hey, Gwen," Chase said leaning against a locker and giving her his swoon worthy smile, which instantly made her blush.

Lexi shook her head and looked at Gwen "What's up?

"We are all staying late to put the final touches on Junior Prom plans, Do you guys want to help?"

"Sure, we said as Lexi noticed her crush Colton walk up to us.

"Good," He said with a smile "You don't want to miss out on all the fun."

"No, we don't," Lexi said feeling herself blush "What..."

"Oh god, here comes your sister," Jolene said looking behind us "Please don't invite her, she can be such a bummer."

We all nodded in agreement, Brielle could be such an embarrassment and she defiantly did not know hot to act around our friends.

"Lexi, I have been waiting. Are you ready to go now?" Brielle said impatiently, ignoring my friends.

"No you go ahead, Chase and I are going to stay and help with Prom planning."

"Oh can I help?" Brielle said with a very small smile.

"Uh, no...umm..." Lexi said trying to quickly come up with a lie.

"The Prom Committee is full Brielle," Chase said wanting her to leave.

"Sorry," We all said as we walked away.

Brielle just stood there for a minute before finding her art buddies and going outside.

It hurt to not be as close to her brother and sister like they use to be and seeing them with their pretty, popular friends and getting to plan big events like Prom. She couldn't even figure out why Lexi and Chase even wanted to hang out with such a mean group of kids. Yea, they were the most popular kids in school but they put down anyone who wasn't like them.  Brielle and her friends did their homework together before she had to go to work at the local grocery store. When she got home she went to her room and painted until she got sleepy.

Everyday while the kids were at school I would go clean their rooms making sure there wasn't any food or dirty clothes out. Lexi and Chase's rooms were never a problem, they were the tidiest teens I have ever seen, but Brielle's room....her room was a different story. She always had clothes on the floor and crumpled papers and paint supplies scattered all over the place.

Another thing I had noticed about Chase was, unlike his sisters, he did not like lots of stuff hanging on his walls, just his surf board holder. After cleaning their rooms I hung their Prom clothes in the closet neatly so they wouldn't wrinkle.
